What’s Happening

Aragon House

Young’s Brewery took over Aragon House after buying the City Pub group last year and they’ve given it a refurt. Great to see that the garden has had a much needed glow up just in time for incoming warmer weather. The makeover includes new seating, all weather covers and a new look which was very much needed. We know we’re not the only ones who felt it was looking a tad jaded. The interiors have also had a refresh and we’re thrilled that the art packed walls and black and white floor tiles are still very much a feature.

There’s a new menu too with sharing Sunday roasts and new additions including Sautéed leek, hot honey & Taleggio ravioli, Barnsley lamb chop with whipped goats curd, cavolo nero and red wine jus, butter chicken skewers and charred cauliflower.

We’re looking forward to al fresco sun downers this summer in the spruced up garden, until then we’ll be booking into the Green Room speakeasy for cocktails where you can also enjoy a pre dinner drink , classic serves, seasonal sips and mocktails. Le Cafe Sablé

We know many Fulhamites were sad when Sable Cookies left SW6 in July 2025. But good news they’re back and you’ll find them at number 188 Wandsworth Bridge Road. When we popped in to say hello we just followed our nose towards the delicious freshly baked smells wafting our way. Inspired by trips to New York, Sablé was born first as an online business and then bricks and mortar in 2024 with the simple aim of creating London's best thick, gooey and crisp cookies.

Sable bakes fresh New York style, small batch cookies every day. Flavours include triple chocolate sea salt, raspberry and white chocolate and birthday cake cookies. There is now a small seating area outside and as well as cookies you can enjoy cookie puddings (Pistachio Kunfa and Banana) coffee and matcha. Pleased to hear that since returning to Fulham they’ve had their busiest ever weekend.

Mercado Alley

Just outside of the hood but thought you might be interested to hear that Mercado Alley has launched their new curated collection of artisan craftsmanship and homeware at Chelsea Powerhouse Waterfront. We’ve always enjoyed a brisk walk to where Fulham joins Chelsea to watch this space radically change and develop over the years. Mercado Alley is the first shop to open in the Powerhouse (outside of Sainsbury’s) and we were delighted to hear of this new opening from a subscriber.

We are looking forward to taking a peek at the collection ourselves which features handmade homeware from everyday essentials to unique statement pieces. What began as a small market stall in Greenwich Market has now grown into a creative team that also offer customisation services, working with clients to design pieces that perfectly reflect their style. In addition, they up-cycle pre-owned items, giving them a fresh, modern look. Owner Gabriel told us “Whether it’s a house, an office, or a creative workspace, our goal is to design pieces that complement your individual taste and make your surroundings feel a little more special. As a small but passionate team, we’re proud to continue growing while staying true to our roots: making beautiful, thoughtful items that tell a story”.

Congratulations!

Great to hear that Gauri Naffrey, Fulham resident and owner of Bridge Baker, was recently awarded “Business Woman of the Year” by the London Chamber of Commerce for SME’s. “I couldn’t have done it without all the support of the local Fulham community! So thank you for all your support these past years”.

Bridge Baker were one of the very first businesses we featured on our “What’s New” page when we launched and they opened in 2019 so we’ve always had a bit of a soft spot and much admiration for what’s been achieved to date. It’s been fantastic watching Bridge Baker expand to now three bakeries, two of which are here in Fulham.
