Support Friends of South Park

Can you help support Friends of South Park with their Annual Picnic in the Park event which takes place on Sat 13 June (12-4pm)?

They’re looking for residents willing to have an Aspire sponsorship board outside their home from 15th May to 15th June.

For each board, Aspire will donate £25 towards the running costs of the event. If you’re happy to help, please email fulham.southpark@gmail.com with your full name and full postal address (including postcode). The organisers have stressed that your details will only be used to arrange the board. Neither Friends of South Park nor Aspire will retain or use your information for any other purpose.

New Acres Market

Duck Pond Markets who run planet friendly markets have launched a 3 month trial of a new weekly market at New Acres, Wandsworth, a short hop and a skip over the river from Fulham.

The organisers told Urban Village LDN, “New Acres is a neighbourhood with thoughtfully designed apartments, a vibrant mix of independent brands and shared spaces that bring people together, all just moments from the buzz of central London. Wander between local favourites, meet the makers behind our independents and feel lifted by the energy of the local community”.

“More than a traditional development, New Acres is a neighbourhood shaped by creativity, independent thinking and curated experiences that reflect local culture and modern ways of living. The market will be situated outside a new Waitrose amongst these indie stores. Although it’s not a ‘classic’ Duck Pond location, we are attracted by the management who are so passionate about creating a new London market and the indie vibe they are bringing in! It will also be our most central London market”.

We’ve been to lots of Duck Pond Markets and you’ll always find friendly stall holders, independent makers, delicious food to enjoy and lots of interesting and unique products.

Splish Splash

If you haven’t heard already the splash pad at Bishops Park is now open! The official opening times are 1 May to 31 August from 10am to 6pm. You’ll find the splash pad in the centre of Bishop’s Park, between the lake and the skate bowl. On sunny days it’s always such a happy scene to see families enjoying this space especially on scorching hot days. The park has asked everyone to be mindful and not stay for long periods on warmer busier days so that more local residents can enjoy the space.
