Lovebrook & Green

Did you know that Lovebrook & Green, the world's first and only ethical department store, was founded by a Fulham resident? The online department store, launched in November 2025, brings together carefully assessed brands across five departments: women, men, beauty and wellbeing, home and garden and hampers and gifting.

Designed as a trusted destination for conscious consumers, Lovebrook & Green makes it easier for them to discover beautiful, responsibly made products in one place. You can rest assured there’s no green washing, each brand undergoes a review aligned with the UK Green Claims Code, helping ensure transparency and credible environmental and social claims.

Urban Village LDN caught up with Lucy Johnson to find out more “Department stores have always held a special magic for me, but I found more and more they were not stocking the new wave of ethical and clean beauty brands that so many of us love. Lovebrook & Green was created to change that. It's a department store designed to connect people to exceptional makers and the earth".

Lovebrook & Green have just launched their Food Hall in partnership with Edenmoor, an exciting extension of their department store offering. Rooted in the landscapes between Dartmoor and Exmoor, Edenmoor champions regenerative, nature-friendly practices and brings together farmers, fishermen and artisan producers who work in harmony with the land. Lucy told us more “this partnership allows us to expand beyond wardrobe, home, beauty and gifts into thoughtfully sourced, nutritious food. In doing so, we further consolidate our position as the country’s only ethical department store, offering everything you need, curated with integrity, from field to home. Our partnership with Edenmoor is a natural extension of our vision. Food is our most direct connection to the land, and together we’re bringing thoughtfully produced, regenerative food to customers who are looking for quality and provenance.”

Men’s Meet up

South Fulham PCN is the grouping of seven local GP practices in the Fulham / Parsons Green area who want to work together to address local health & wellbeing need through a variety of services for their patients and local residents. The PCN has recently created a "men's meet up" group which is an informal and friendly space for men to chat, socialise and connect with others in the local area.

The group has been set up by local GP (Dr George Hawche) and Ross Lambdon (Assistant Director for South Fulham PCN) who are both passionate about men's health and wellbeing.  Both acknowledge the stigma around men having the opportunity (and confidence) to meet locally and chat with other men.

Ross got in touch with Urban Village LDN to ask if we could spread the word about this new initative and told us “off the back of a successful men's health event in collaboration with Chelsea FC Foundation a couple of years ago, both Dr Hawche and I have been looking at other ways to connect and engage with local men. A monthly meet-up group seemed like the next best course of action, in the hope that local residents would find this useful to chat and socialise. There is no agenda or expectation from anyone.  Conversations can be about anything and everything and there is no pressure to talk about specifics - men can simply come along and just be part of the group”.

This group is open to all men in the local area and refreshments are provided. No sign-up required, just turn up!   The next meet ups take place on Thursday 28 May (6.30pm - 8pm) at The Fulham Medical Centre (SW6 1BG) and are led by Dr Hawche.

Zofa Home

Zofa “sofas made simple” have opened their first London showroom in our urban village. Located at 913 Fulham Road, you’ll find two floors showcasing a collection of their sofas which are all crafted and manufactured here in the UK. Urban Village LDN caught up with Jonathan Bradley, a director of the company, to find out more. “Owner John Hampton has many years of experience in manufacturing sofas and supplying to large retailers, however he became disillusioned by the lack of quality. Seeing a gap in the market John sold that business and put all the best aspects into one offering and created Zofa”.

Zofa knew customers felt overwhelmed by too much choice and believing that choosing a sofa shouldn’t feel complicated they took a different approach to make sofa shopping considered but straightforward. All their sofas are handmade in their own Yorkshire factory by experienced upholsterers, using carefully selected materials and proven construction methods.

We wanted to find out more about what makes Zofa different. Jonathan told us “all our sofas feature cushions with specific tec so they bounce back, there’s no constant need to plump, all our products have the same cushions so every sofa has the same sit consistency. Some retailers offer a range of fabrics but that often changes the price of the product, all our fabrics are one price, there’s no catch and we really think this is unique, what you see if what you get!”.

We loved our conversation with Jonathan hearing about how all their products have removable arms, perfect for flats, smaller entrances and moving later down the line. We all know about the trend for modular sofas but Zofa’s range of modular sofas are “rearrangeable” so if you have guests over and want to turn your sofa into a two seater or arrange it into a bed, you can; FYI they also have a range of sofa beds! We were also very impressed to hear that they manufacture orders and deliver within 4-6 weeks.

D’ Cocina Bar & Restaurant

D’Cocina began life as a catering business in 2011 and grew into a restaurant brand when they opened their first restaurant serving authentic Filipino cuisine in 2024. They are now located in London, Birmingham and Manchester. Fulham is their fourth restaurant and they opened their doors on North End Road last month; in the old Simmon’s site by Dance Attic. It’s great to see this space finally occupied again and with what feels like a vibrant team behind it.

Urban Village LDN caught up with Director, Valerie Birchmore and asked her what attracted D’Cocina to Fulham. “It felt like the perfect next step for us. There are currently no other Filipino restaurants in the area, so we saw a real opportunity to introduce our cuisine to a new community.”.

Their menu showcases the best of traditional Filipino street food prepared with quality ingredients, rich flavours and time-honoured techniques. You can enjoy a range of starters: Kikiam, made of ground pork, flour and shrimp, Kwek Kwek (hard boiled quails eggs) and spring rolls, always a popular choice! Mains include beef, chicken and fish dishes including grilled barbecue skewers, Salmon Teriyaki, Beef Kare Kare (with peanut sauce, aubergine and pak choy) and Lechon Kawali (crispy pork belly). Apparently their Filipino brunch is popular and their sharing platters look incredible, a heads up they have to be pre booked if you don’t want a wait. There’s also a kids menu and you can try Halo Halo a famous Filipino dish for dessert. We’ve never tried Filipino cuisine before, so we’re looking forward to enjoying at taste of the Philippines.

Beyond the menu Valerie told us “we want D’Cocina to be an experience. There will be live music, entertainment and of course karaoke, something that’s deeply rooted in Filipino culture. We also aim for our brand to be a platform for local artists to showcase their talents, not just musicians but creatives of all kinds. We’ll be hosting art exhibitions soon and if you notice empty frames on our walls, they’re intentionally there serving as decor for now but soon to be filled with real artwork on rotation. Whether you’re coming for a casual meal, drinks with friends or a lively night out there’s something here for everyone”.
