Live Longer Better Fulham

Live Longer Better Fulham is a new initative being driven by the South Fulham Primary Network. Their aim is to build a movement that connects us all, using the fantastic assets we already have locally and working out what we can all do together so everyone in Fulham can age well, stay independent and live a happier, healthier, longer life.

For those readers who don’t know South Fulham PCN is a partnership of 7 local GP practices in the Fulham and Parsons Green area: Cassidy Road Medical Centre, Palace Surgery, The Fulham Medical Centre, Sands End Health Clinic, Fulham Cross Medical Centre, The Lilyville Surgery and Ashville Surgery. The Primary Care Network aims to address local need by working together to provide a variety of different services for their patients and local residents.

Ross Lambdon told Urban Village LDN “we are not introducing a new service, this community initiative is all about partnership, connection and trust. We want to engage with anyone (old or young) that is interested in learning more about the movement and, if interested, how they could get involved.  Our movement has the benefits of specific community champion training programmes so if anyone would like to, they could have an active role in making our movement's ambitions become a reality.”

If you’re interested in hearing more you can join their community lunch taking place on Friday 9 October at Dawes Road Hub. This is a free event to which everyone from the Fulham community is invited. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. To attend simply RSVP southfulham.pcn@nhs.net

Christmas tree showcase

For the first time Fulham Palace are inviting local businesses to come together and get creative this Christmas. Sponsor a tree for £300 and gather colleagues together to get festive and decorate one of Fulham Palace’s Christmas trees within the historic house. The trees will help create a festive trail for thousands of visitors this December whilst raising visibility for your business.

Could this be the fun team outing you’re looking for, a chance to put your business in front of a new audience and a simple way of supporting the Fulham Palace Trust; an independent charity that keeps this historic site open to everyone. The trees will be on display from 26 November to 13 December, with visitors invited to vote for their favourite. The winner receives a special prize!

Erin Brudi, Marketing and Communications Manager, at Fulham Palace told Urban Village LDN “We’ll be promoting the showcase across our social channels and website, giving participating businesses some extra visibility and a chance to showcase their team and creativity to our audience. The businesses are invited to bring their own decorations and Fulham Palace will provide the tree, music and mince pies. We think it could be a really fun team activity, as well as a great way to celebrate the season with your team, showcase your business and support the Palace”.
